Answers to the most common questions about nominations, voting, scholarships, and how we support student-athletes throughout the season.
PRG Scholarships is a program highlighting Wisconsin student-athletes who demonstrate leadership, character, team contribution, and positive impact on and off the field.
Each week during the 9-week regular season: 1) Players are nominated by the public after Friday night games. 2) The PRG board reviews nominations and selects 5 players from each of the 9 positions. 3) Final recipients are determined by board review of the criteria. 4) Weekly scholarship winners are announced for each of the 9 positions.
Anyone can submit a nomination — coaches, teachers, parents, teammates, or community members — as long as the nomination is submitted within the designated time window.
Nominations open Friday at 11 PM and close Sunday at Noon. Late submissions will not be considered.
Once the top 5 nominees from each position are selected, public voting opens for a limited time. Voters are allowed to vote for each position as frequently as possible, until the voting closes for the week.
Finalists are selected based on their individual game performance, sportsmanship, leadership, and overall impact demonstrated during both the game and the week of practice. Once chosen, these finalists are put forward for a public vote, after which the board reviews the top vote getters against the established criteria to determine the final award recipients.
