About PRG Scholarships
The Phillip Reed Group was created out of a lifelong passion for sports and a desire to promote and support young athletes across Wisconsin. Named after the middle names of our children, our organization is rooted in family, legacy, and the belief that every student-athlete deserves the chance to pursue higher education.
We aim to empower athletes by providing scholarships, recognition, and meaningful opportunities that highlight their hard work, character, and dedication, both on and off the field.
Our program is made possible through the support of our board, community partners, donors and supporters who believe in investing in the future of student-athletes. Together, we are turning performance, character, and heart into opportunity; one week at a time.

Craig Bergner
Founder & President
Hi, I'm Craig Bergner, founder of the Phillip Reed Group. Sports have shaped my entire life, from competing as a collegiate athlete, to coaching after college, to years spent covering and celebrating high school athletes through the media. The relationships I built along the way opened my eyes to how hard many young athletes work; not just to succeed in their sport, but to build a future for themselves. I was inspired to create this organization through my passion of helping people and making a positive impact. I want to give back to the same community that has given me so much, and to help student-athletes overcome barriers so they can continue their education. Family is incredibly important to me! I have an amazing wife of ten years and two wonderful sons who are involved in sports. From a young age we offered our children the opportunity to participate in different activities, while emphasizing passion, hard work and kindness. Through the Phillip Reed Group, we will celebrate and reward those same qualities in our athletes.

Mike Stiff
Vice President
Hi, I'm Mike Stiff and I am the Vice President of the Phillip Reed Group. I have a passion for sports, helping others and family. I grew up around sports and continue to be very active: playing softball, discing and the occasional run. My wife and I have been married for ten years and have two amazing children, who are also very active in sports. I enjoy coaching them in all sports they want to try! We are also very passionate about dogs and love to foster them.

Scott Bergner
Marketing
I believe that sport and competition are the most honest classrooms for a young person. It is one of the few places where 'evidence' outweighs 'affirmation'—where a student-athlete learns quickly that it's the daily grind, consistency, and the work they've put in that determine their performance. My goal on this board is to ensure that all those unseen reps are rewarded through PRG Scholarships, and that the scholarships can be a small catalyst in translating those skills into a lifelong foundation for success. When we reward a student-athlete, we aren't just recognizing a box score; we are investing in the outcomes of their character. I joined this organization to help more young people realize that the grit and perseverance they practice today are the very tools they will use to navigate life's greatest challenges tomorrow.
